Ryka came to me from Kathy as a young adult. She was looking for someone to unlock her performance potential and I am honored to have taken her. She is cute as a button, lovely ribbing, topline, shoulders and rear. Movement to die for - you can gait her with one pinkie. Loves lure coursing and sheep. She only was training with me in agility for less than a year and she earned her novice titles with Double Q's and first place clean runs! Perfectly portable too!
Ryka suffered a disc injury in January 2016. Thanks to the dog show and dog agility community, she made a recovery and not only is back to her old self, she is back to agility! Miracle dog! She is known for having her "fabulous eyebrows" in white...it makes her character!
On March 17, 2018 Ryka earned her PACH (Preferred Agility Championship)! What an incredible journey! She followed up with earning her PAX2 a year later to the day (March 17 2019) and then her PACH2 on May 5 2019!
Sadly, Ryka was diagnosed with an aggressive form of face cancer in early February - she took her last agility laps at Westminster 2020 and ended an amazing career with lots of cheers. We are going to enjoy whatever days we have left. March 13, 2020 - she got her last title ever. AKC Novice Trick Dog, which also qualified her for her VC through the CWCCA.
Ryka passed away peacefully with no suffering on October 27, 2020. I will miss her forever.
